Ancient Tomb - Small Key Guide

As you explore the Ancient Tomb, you'll require five Small Keys. If you come to a locked door as you follow these directions to the Boss Key and other items in this Dungeon, use this guide to determine which Small Keys you may have missed.

Small Key One - From the entrance, go up one screen, push the top-left statue up one step then put a bomb where the statue was standing. Go left one screen, bomb the cracked blocks and open the chest for a Small Key.

Small Key Two - From the entrance, go up one screen, push the top-left statue up one step then put a bomb where the statue was standing. Go left one screen, bomb the cracked blocks to get to the door and go down one screen through the locked door. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond onto the top-left switch. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a block on the bottom- left switch. Stand on the bottom- right switch, shoot an Ember Seed into the brazier on the top-right and go down the stairs. Go up one screen and step into the turnstile. Go left one screen, up one and open the chest for a Small Key.

Small Key Three - From the entrance, go up one screen, push the top-left statue up one step then put a bomb where the statue was standing. Go left one screen, bomb the cracked blocks to get to the door and go down one screen through the locked door. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond onto the top-left switch. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a block on the bottom- left switch. Stand on the bottom- right switch, shoot an Ember Seed into the brazier on the top-right and go down the stairs. Go right one screen through the locked block, step into the turnstile and go down one screen. Go left one screen, up one, left one and bomb the bottom wall. Go down one screen and open the chest for a Small Key.

Small Key Four - From the entrance, go up one screen, push the top-left statue up one step then put a bomb where the statue was standing. Go left one screen, bomb the cracked blocks to get to the door and go down one screen through the locked door. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond onto the top-left switch. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a block on the bottom- left switch. Stand on the bottom- right switch, shoot an Ember Seed into the brazier on the top-right and go down the stairs.

Go right one screen through the locked block and step into the turnstile. Go down one screen, up one along the left side, left one and hit the orb so the red blocks are up. Go right one screen, down one, up one along the right side and step into the turnstile. Go up left screen, up one, and step into the turnstile. Go left one screen, up one, right one and defeat the enemies for a Small Key.

Small Key Five - From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp, go down one screen, left two, use the Switch Hook to switch with the diamond block, go up one, left one, go to the top-left, switch with the diamond on the right, go up one and open the chest for a Small Key.

Ancient Tomb - Get the Power Gloves

From the entrance, go up one screen, push the top-left statue up one step then put a bomb where the statue was standing. Go left one screen, bomb the cracked blocks to get to the door and go down one screen through the locked door. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond onto the top-left switch. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a block on the bottom- left switch. Stand on the bottom- right switch, shoot an Ember Seed into the brazier on the top-right and go down the stairs.

Go right one screen through the locked block. Step into the turnstile, go down one screen, up one along the left side, left one and hit the orb so the red blocks are up. Go right one screen, down one, up one along the right side and step into the turnstile. Go left one screen, up one and step into the turnstile. Go left one screen, up one, right one, down one and climb the ladder. Step on the switch to make a ladder appear. Step into the turnstile from the top twice, then go right one screen, down one and step into the turnstile.

Go left one screen, up one and step into the turnstile. Go right one screen, down one and step into the turnstile. Go right one screen and down one through the locked door into a blue tiled room. Step onto the first tile to change it to tan, then go R1 step, D2, L1, D1, R3, U2, L1, U1, R3, D2, L1, D1, R1, D1, L3, D1, R2, D1, R1, D1 (to bottom-right corner), L3, U1, L1, U1, L1, U1, L1, U4, L1, D6, R2, D1, L5 (to bottom-left corner), U1, R2, U1, L1, U1, L1, U1, R1, U1, R1, U1, L2, U1 and open the chest for the Power Gloves (L = Left, R = Right, U = Up, D = Down).

Ancient Tomb - Find the Mini-Boss

From the entrance, go up one screen, push the top-left statue up one step then put a bomb where the statue was standing. Go left one screen, bomb the cracked blocks to get to the door and go down one screen through the locked door. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond onto the top-left switch. Use the Cane of Somaria to make a block on the bottom- left switch. Stand on the bottom- right switch, shoot an Ember Seed into the brazier on the top-right and go down the stairs.

Go right one screen through the locked block. Step into the turnstile, go down one screen, up one along the left side, left one and hit the orb so the red blocks are up. Go right one screen, down one, up one along the right side and step into the turnstile. Go left one screen, up one and step into the turnstile. Go left one screen, up one, right one, down one, climb the ladder and step on the switch to make a ladder appear.

Step into the turnstile from the top twice and go right one screen. Go up one screen through the locked door, right one, down one and hit the switch so the red blocks are down. Stand on top of the red blocks and hit the switch again. Go up one screen by walking on the blocks, jump to the top left and go left three screens. Go down the stairs, and right two screens to find the mini-boss.

Ancient Tomb - Defeat the Mini-Boss

Use the sword to hit the big flashing fireballs back at the boss, which will turn it into a bat. Hit the bat about 10 times with your sword to defeat it.

Ancient Tomb - Get the Boss Key

From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp. Go down one screen, left one, down two, move the statues to find some stairs and go down the stairs. Push the blocks out of the way and use the Switch Hook to switch with the diamond across the gap. Open the chest for the Boss Key.

Ancient Tomb - Find Ramrock

First, make sure you have all of the Tablet Pieces.

Tablet Piece One - From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp, go down one screen, left two, use the Switch Hook to switch with the diamond block. Go up one screen, left one, go to the top-left and switch with the diamond on the right. Go up one screen, right one, and open the chest for the first Tablet Piece.

Tablet Piece Two - From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp. Go down one screen, left one, down one, left one, down one and open the locked block. Go left one screen, down one and pull the lever all the way out. Go right one screen, and open the chest for the second Tablet Piece.

Tablet Piece Three - From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp, go down one screen, left one, down two, move the statues to find some stairs and go down the stairs. Go right one screen and up the stairs. Push the rolling block down three steps, left one, jump over the pit and get into the mine cart. Defeat the flying tiles and go down one screen. Step on the switch, go right one screen, defeat the enemy and go up one screen. Open the chest for the third Tablet Piece.

Tablet Piece Four - From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp. Go down one screen, left one, down two, right one, up one, defeat the enemies, go right one and go down the stairs. Swim up the far side and go up two screens. Swim down one screen in the current (this is very difficult), right one and down the stairs. Swim right and go up. Open the chest for the fourth Tablet Piece.

Once you have the pieces, enter the Mini-Boss Warp, go down one screen, left one, down one and place all of the Tablet Pieces in their places. The Tablets are automatically placed when you stand in between one of the four pairs of unlit braziers in the room. When one is successfully placed, the braziers will light. Go down the stairs, then down the far ladder. Go right one screen, smash the crystal with the sword, bomb the cracked block, light the brazier with Ember Seeds, lift the statue with the Power Gloves then go up one through the Boss Door to find Ramrock.

Ancient Tomb - Defeat Ramrock

When he extends his hands, hit his hands with your sword so they bounce and hit him three times. When he begins smashing his hands together, drop a bomb so his hands smash it. When he puts a shield in front of himself, bounce Scent Seeds off the wall and hit him from behind. When he stretches one of his arms at you, pull the other arm out with Power Gloves so it snaps back into him. Repeat this three times to earn the Falling Star.
