Crown Dungeon - Small Key Guide  

As you explore Crown Dungeon, you'll require five Small Keys. If you come to a locked door as you follow these directions to the Boss Key and other items in this Dungeon, use this guide to determine which Small Keys you may have missed.  

Small Key One - From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen, left two, up one, defeat the enemies and go downstairs. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond block onto the switch, go down one screen and up the stairs. Go down two screens and hit the orb. Go right one screen and use the Seed Shooter to bounce a seed off of all three statues. You should stand up and left from the left statue, and fire down at an angle toward it to hit all three. When the chest appears, open it for a Small Key.  

Small Key Two - From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen, left two, up one, defeat the enemies and go downstairs. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond block onto the switch, go down one screen and up the stairs. Go down two screens and hit the orb so the blue blocks are down. Go up two screens, down the stairs and open the chest for a Small Key.  

Small Key Three - From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen, right two along the bottom path, down two and left one through the locked door. Push each of the statues onto a switch and create a block with the Cane of Somaria for the third switch. Step on the fourth switch, open the chest and get the Small Key.  

Small Key Four - From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen and hit the orb so the blue blocks are up. Go right one screen on the top path and down the stairs. Go left one screen by standing on the red blocks, hitting the orb, dropping onto the blue blocks and hitting the orb again. Go down the stairs, jump across the platforms and climb up the ladder. In the next dark room, use the Cane of Somaria to make blocks and push them in front of you to find the path to the chest. Open the chest for a Small Key.  

Small Key Five - From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen and hit the orb so the blue blocks are down. Go right two screens along the top, down one and down the stairs. Go down the other stairs, use the Cane of Somaria to make a block to use as a step and climb up the far ladder. Use the Seed Shooter to shoot the orb and go up one screen. Push the top statue right two steps, down one and use the Cane of Somaria to make a block to the left of this statue. Push the bottom statue left four steps and put a block above the other statue. Push the bottom statue up onto the switch. Open the chest which appears to get a Small Key.  

Crown Dungeon - Find the Mini-Boss  

From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen, right three and use Pegasus Seeds with the Roc's Feather to jump over the pits. Go right one screen through the locked door to find the Mini-Boss.  

Crown Dungeon - Defeat the Mini-Boss  

This mini-boss will throw a giant ball at you. Use the Power Bracelet to pick up the ball after it is thrown and toss it back at him to cause damage. Hit the mini-boss a total of five times to defeat it.  

Crown Dungeon - Get the Cane of Somaria  

From the entrance, go up one screen, defeat the enemies then go up one, left two and up one. Defeat the enemies then go down the stairs. Use the Switch Hook to move the diamond block onto the switch. Go down one screen and take the stairs. Go down two screens, stand above the red blocks and use the Seed Shooter to shoot the orb, making the red blocks go up. Go up two screens, right two and shoot the orb twice to get into the bottom- right corner.  

Use the bottom exit and go right two screens. Go down two screens and left through the locked door. Go down the stairs, use the Seed Shooter to ricochet seeds into the four braziers then go left one screen. Stand on the button to see a colored pattern of tiles. Push the right yellow statue left one step and up one. Push the left blue statue right one step and down two. Push the right blue statue right one step, up one and left one. Push the right red statue up one. Push the left yellow statue down one and open the chest for the Cane of Somaria.  

Crown Dungeon - Get the Boss Key  

From the entrance, enter the Mini-Boss Warp, go up one screen, use the Cane of Somaria to hold the switch down, cross the bridge and go down the stairs. Go right one screen and down the ladder. Go up the other set of stairs Hit the orb to lower the blue blocks. Stand on the blue blocks and use the Seed Shooter to shoot the orb. Go left one screen, down one and up one screen through the locked block.  

Go left one screen, hit the orb and go through the locked block. Climb the ladder, go right one screen and drop onto the red blocks. Go up one screen and down the stairs. Hit the orb to lower the red blocks. Stand on the red blocks and shoot the orb. Go left one screen through the locked door. Go down the stairs and use the Cane of Somaria to make a block. Use the block to reach the platform and climb up the far- right ladder.  

Push one of the yellow statues left three steps and push one of the blue statues right three. Push the top blue statue down one step and use the Cane of Somaria to put a block above it. Push the left blue statue up two steps, right one and put a block to the right of the right statue. Push the top blue statue right one and down one. Push the bottom red statue up one and put a block below it. Push the left red statue down three and put a block to the right of the right red statue. Push the left red statue right three steps, up one and open the chest to get the Boss Key.  

Crown Dungeon - Find Smog  

From the entrance, go up one screen and defeat the enemies. Go up one screen, hit the orb so the blue blocks are down and go right two screens on the bottom path. Go down two screens and right two through the boss door to find Smog.  

Crown Dungeon - Defeat Smog  

Smog is a cloud which will split into smaller clouds. You must use the Cane of Somaria to place a block in the path of the smaller cloud(s) so they collide with each other. He can only be damaged when he is in giant cloud form. Hit him three times with the sword when he is solid, and he will split four different times.  

The first time, place a block above the middle of the bottom formation.  

The second time, place a block to the right of the middle block in the left column of blocks. Once the clouds combine, place a block to the right of the top-most block in the middle column.  

The third time, push the top-middle block left, the bottom- middle block right and put a block to the right of the left formation. Place another block in the middle before the cloud goes through.  

The fourth time, put a block next to the top block of the left formation on the left side so the cloud goes along the edge of the room. Put a block next to the top block of the right formation on the right side so that cloud goes along the edge. Put a block at the bottom of the three middle blocks.  

Timing is the key. If the blocks are not placed at the right time, the clouds will not collide. Defeat Smog to earn the Sacred Soil.
