After receiving the Kokiri's Emerald, Link will automatically return to Kokiri Forest. Go to the other side of the village and enter the log tunnel. Go to the center of the Market and talk to Malon.

Continue to the opposite side of the Market to reach the path towards the castle. Walk along the pathway, following the right wall, and climb the vines to a ledge. Go along the ledge and across the stone arch to get caught by a guard who throws Link outside the gate. Walk away from the gate to find Malon next to the vines. Talk to her to receive the Weird Egg.
