Enter the Secret Dungeon  

Before you attempt to find the Secret Dungeon, you must have already found the Sword, Power Bracelet, Magic Powder, Pegasus Boots, Roc's Feather and Hookshot. Once you have these items in your possession, go to the Library in Mabe Village and use the Pegasus Boots to knock the book from the top of the bookshelf. Read the book to find the location and directions for entering the Secret Dungeon.  

From the Library, go up one screen, right three screens, up one screen, right two screens, up three screens, right one screen and enter the Cemetery. In the Cemetery, go down one screen and right one screen to find the section with five gravestones. Start with the bottom-right gravestone and move it down. Move the bottom-left gravestone to the left. Move the upper-left gravestone up. Move the upper- middle gravestone to the right. Move the upper-right gravestone up to reveal the entrance to the Secret Dungeon.  

Secret Dungeon - Small Key Guide  

As you explore the Secret Dungeon, you'll require three Small Keys. If you come to a locked door as you follow my directions to the Nightmare Key and other items in the Dungeon, use this guide to determine which Small Keys you may have missed.  

Small Key One - From the dungeon entrance, go up one screen and defeat all of the enemies, then go right three screens and down one screen. Defeat all of the enemies then go left one screen to get the Key.  

Small Key Two - From the dungeon entrance, go up one screen and defeat all of the enemies. Then go right three screens, up two screens and solve the Colored Orb puzzle to get a Key.  

Small Key Three - From the dungeon entrance, go up one screen and defeat all of the enemies. Then go right two screens, up one screen and defeat the enemy. Next, go left one screen, up one, right one and put the Orb Monsters in their matching colored holes to get a Key.  

Secret Dungeon - Get the Nightmare Key From the dungeon entrance, go up one screen and defeat all of the enemies to open the right door. Go right three screens, up two, right one, up one and defeat the enemy to open the left door. Go left one screen, push the top and button blocks left, then push the center block up or down. Open the chest to get the Nightmare Key.  

Secret Dungeon - Find the Boss From the Colored Orb puzzle, go up one screen, left one screen, hit the Orb and go up one screen to confront the Boss, Evil Orb.  

Secret Dungeon - Defeat Evil Orb  

Hit the Boss repeatedly with the Hookshot until the Evil Orb turns red, which causes tow Stalfos Knights to drop from the ceiling. Quickly defeat them with your Sword, then attack the Evil Orb with your sword until it is defeated. When the Orb is vanquished, go right one screen to get either the Red or Blue Tunic from the Fairy Queen. The Red Tunic increases Link's offensive power, and the Blue Tunic increases Link's defense. If you ever want to change your decision, simply return to the Secret dungeon.
