The MSc in Social Science Research Methods is a multi-
disciplinary degree programme for those who want to acquire or extend a knowledge of research methods across a broad span of the social sciences. It may lead to the award of MSc, PgDiploma or PgCertificate. It also forms a strong basis for research students proceeding to an MPhil or PhD (part-
time or full-time).
Programme structure:
The core of the programme consists of five compulsory modules of research methodology. Key skills modules are also recommended. In addition students studying for the MSc submit a dissertation of about 12,000 words and take one further taught module selected from the list of option courses available.
