The MA Criminology is designed for those who want to expand their knowledge of the criminal justice system, crime and social policy. It provides a thorough sociological approach to understanding these aspects of society.
The programme is integrated into the European Common Study Programme in Criminology, which is taught at Middlesex and universities at Saabruckhen, Komotini, Barcelona, Bari, Rotterdam and Ghent. Two one-week common study sessions are held every year at one of these institutions, on an annually rotating basis. Attendance on these is optional, but participation is encouraged. The European programme is designed to give students and staff the opportunity to compare the operation of criminal justice systems in a range of European countries and to meet European students who are studying similar issues.
Students who wish to spend a term abroad at one of our six sister institutions may apply for ERASMUS funding. MA Criminology has ESRC Advanced Course Specialist Recognition for this programme.
