The programme provides a close focus on criminal law and criminal justice institutions and administration With the expansion of crime prevention as a normal part of policy both in local government & in the private sector, the concern with crime control has expanded well outside traditional legal areas of working (e.g. courts, probation etc.) and now embraces wider concepts such as 'community safety' & the management of 'risk', to name but two recent developments. It is to this wider context that this degree is oriented.
