These listings grew out of a set of reviews of the first three albums that I wrote in early 1997 as album reviews for CDnow, not realizingthat CDnow could only accept reviews for current releases. At that time, hardly anybody outside of North Texas had heard of the DixieChicks. A year later, they released Wide Open Spaces... and a year after that -- 51 weeks, to be exact -- the Dixie Chicks' fourth album (and first major-label release) hit the top of the Country Music charts.
