NAZARETH

The so-called Israel- land trustees movement declared on Sunday plans to build nine settlement outposts in the West Bank starting with an area near occupied Jerusalem.

One of the movement's leaders told Hebrew daily 'Yedioth Ahronoth' that the target of those settlements is to foil the establishment of a Palestinian state.

He added that his movement plans to construct 4,000 housing units to accommodate hundreds of the movement activists and their families.

He said that the settlements would be located on lands of Nablus, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Qalqilia, Al-Khalil and Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the Israeli premier's office declared that the construction works in Jabal Abu Ghunaim was legal and did not contradict Israel's pledges in Annapolis. The statement posed as another slap in the face of those betting on Israeli promises.
