Eight Palestinian resistance fighters were killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Tuesday morning.  

According to the Haaretz daily newspaper, two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded during the attack as a missile was fired at their military vehicle, while earlier another two were also lightly wounded as clashes broke out with the Palestinian resistance.  

Earlier Tuesday, Israeli air strikes killed two Palestinians in Beit Hanoun in the northern part of Gaza.  

Meanwhile, local sources in southern Gaza reported that a ransacking operation was conducted by the Israeli military and they positioned on several buildings rooftops, detaining at least 60 Palestinians for several hours for interrogation.  

According to Palestine News Agency WAFA, Israeli military is still attacking Gaza, and aircraft are currently shelling Khan Younis, where three were already killed when Israeli aircraft fired missiles at the vehicle they were traveling in.  

The Islamic Jihad movement issued a press release early on Tuesday stating that one of the men killed was one of its fighters, a member of the Al Quds brigades.  

He was shot and killed during clashes with under- cover Israeli forces near the agricultural college, north of Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. They identified the fighter as Husam Zaki Nashwan, 26..
